The Water Situation of the Auroville Bioregion
Tamil Nadu is about to face a water crisis. More water is pumped from the underground aquifers than recharged by the annual monsoon rains. Since 1970, the number of bore wells increased exponentially as a consequence the water table level decreases drastically.
