Salinity Moderating & Proofing of Costal Aquifers
Auroville Water Harvest proposed to conduct a 3 years mini watershed project, starting January 2006 and ending in December 2009 in an area particularly threatened by salinity intrusion in the Vanur Taluk of Villupuram District, Tamil Nadu, India. This project is based on an integrated approach, which comprises water, land, ecology, sanitation, livestock and people and on a participatory approach with the water users, farmers and the community so as to make them act as changing agents to conserve natural resources and guarantee the sustainability of the program. º º º º º º
