Auroville Green Practices Seminar 2010
Auroville Green Practices Seminar took place from 26-28 August 2010 at Auroville. In this three day seminar, more than 30 senior Auroville experts presented various projects and experiences to realize a vision of environmentally responsible township. Topics included: landscaping, water harvesting, waste management, organic food, renewable energy, appropriate building technologies and environmental awareness.

Participants received an exclusive special edition gift basket consisting of Auroville products (Wellpaper recycled paper basket, EcoPro EM, Maroma aromatic candle, AVAG, recycled paper bag, Marc’s coffee, a Flame mug, Lemongrass plant from Buddha Garden organic farm, Naturellement organic jam) and Auroville Green Practices poster.
The event was organized by Auroville Consulting with an energetic team of 17 people including 6 young Aurovilians who attended the event and played host to the attendees. The team consisting of Dinesh, Oliver, Krishna, Christoph, Soumya, Vimal, Balaji, Vikram, Anadi, Mohini, Merlin, Nitzan, Sushant and Ibtisam took care of all logistics, media and technical support. A special thanks to Toine for his mentoring. Thanks for their warm and efficient support to : Nicole and Visitors Centre Cafeteria team; Jean-Marc and his team at Le Morgan; Laxman and team at ACUR; Srimoyi and Ashatit for Bijlee transport, Taj and Anand for ACTS Bus. We are glad that this event has already generated much interest in work done at Auroville and we dream of a deeper collaboration with green practitioners with more such events in the future.
